I hold strongly the viewpoint that trinitarianism is deceptive as well as deceitful.
I reference J. Rodman Williams' book 'Renewal Theology from a Charismatic Perspective' :
In chapter four, entitled "the Holy Trinity" Mr. Williams, in his argument for the existence of the Trinity, discloses his observation in Isaiah 9:6 that the Son of God is referenced. What is interesting, however, is the conclusion, as he states that "The Son will be 'Mighty God.'." In fact, that conclusion was completely camouflaged through the recitation of an incomplete Scripture referenced below. He recited as follows:
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given...and his name will be called 'Wonderful, Councelor, Mighty God' " Where is the rest of the Scripture?!!!
Please note also, that Mr. Williams states what is and underpinning message of trinitarians that Jesus was made to be (as made tobecome) "Mighty God." In fact, the Scripture referenced does not state that the Son ..."will be...", but that He will "be called..." by His name.
Hmmm... He avoided the very Scripture that thwarts the notion of any sort of trinity or triunity! Quite deceptively, he ommitted the very Words that tell us that Jesus Christ is, also, most definitely, "...The Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9 (KJB)
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
