Asking to Receive Jesus

Most certainly, the Scriptures confirm that the Word is received by the saints who are chosen by God. However, there is nothing that would indicate that anyone has the ability to "ask Jesus Christ to come into their heart" nor the ability to state "I receive you into my heart." 

What we do know is that the saints, who are revealed that Jesus Christ is God, receive the Spirit of God which is given by God.  It is not initiated by man nor received from man, it is initiated by God. Thus, we receive what God, alone, must give us.

Galatians 1
11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
